Fairfax students and staff helped to plant over 200 trees in Newdigate Fields, Falcon Lodge during National Tree Week.
Throughout the day enthusiastic and willing young volunteers from across the local area arrived with smiling faces, rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in planting trees.
And a big thank you to all the volunteers from Equans who helped out and local residents who also dropped in and planted trees throughout the day. The trees and all the equipment were provided by council contractor Equans.
There are now over 400 hazel, hawthorn, crab apple, rowan, blackthorn, dog rose and goat willow trees growing at Newdigate Fields.
Not all of them will survive, of course, but those that do will hopefully provide enjoyment and pleasure for future generations of local residents in the years to come.
