Mr Sean Castle
Thank you for your interest in Fairfax, and a warm welcome from everyone connected within Fairfax Academy.
I am both humbled and proud to be the Principal of Fairfax Academy. At Fairfax hard work is recognised, and the Academy’s values ensure this hard work provides opportunity. We believe that every child attending Fairfax will excel within a culture of mutual ambition, respect, kindness and safety.
The Academy continues to enjoy good examination results and students benefit from an exceptional extracurricular provision; a result of our commitment to our motto ‘Sinceritas Laboris’ there is dignity in labour! Staff at Fairfax Academy care deeply for the students they serve, and go above and beyond to ensure they succeed both personally and academically.
Our House system is at the heart of the school and has been in place for the best part of 60 years. This commitment to our school traditions ensures that every child has the opportunity to participate in activities that develop them as people. Such activities include our annual Eisteddfod, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, local and national sporting events and many artistic performances.
My personal philosophy is that hard work and a no excuses approach breeds reward. Anyone can achieve any goal, regardless of their starting point in life. Fairfax is committed to ensuring all our students realise their ambitions, and work hard to achieve them. All our students are expected to meet our high expectations, whether it be in punctuality, behaviour, courtesy or class work. The Academy aims to promote a sense of pride in students, through students taking personal responsibility in their actions. The Fairfax Way ensures we all stay grounded, are humble, and support each other to succeed. This is our mantra for how we conduct ourselves both within the classroom, around the academy and wider community. We Are Fairfax!
