All back to school!

11 March 2021

Today all students have returned to Fairfax, and we are so proud of how well everyone is settling back into school life.

It is a pleasure to see students working hard in their lessons and displaying our ARKS values of Ambition, Respect, Kindness and Safety.

Testing commences

Lateral flow testing has commenced today at Fairfax (4th March 2021).  We couldn’t be prouder of our students’ resilience and maturity throughout this period.

Staff are eager to welcome our students back and we can’t wait to see classrooms full of students working hard!

For the first time in 24 years, Stratford House were the winners of our annual Eisteddfod.

Congratulations to all of our students who took part in our first, and hopefully, last, virtual Eisteddfod.  We were delighted with the number of students who entered the competition with their entries or performances in this most unusual year.

HOUSE COMPETITION NEWS – Celebrating Black Britons

20.11.20
Students at Fairfax have really embraced our House Competition, celebrating Black Britons. An impressive collection of videos, podcasts, poems, literature, photos and essays have been carefully crafted by students from each of our year groups.

The entries span across three centuries of Black Britons starting with Mary Seacole, who tirelessly worked on the front line to nurse the soldiers at The Crimean War. From the 19th century, we fast forward to the 21st century where our students used contemporary music to choreograph a dance that celebrated music from across the diaspora. It truly is pleasing to see how our students have taken up the task to research and celebrate Black History Month.

More than ever, these entries really show that #wearefairfax and that we take pride in our diversity.

We are pleased to announce the winning entries:
Seniors Winner Demi-Lee (Y12)
Runners up Devlin and Mya (Y12)
Juniors Winners Henna and Zach (Y7)
Runners Up Riley and Dhruvi (Y7)

“It has been a real pleasure welcoming students back to school this week. Staff have been telling me how much they have missed their students and how much they have enjoyed welcoming them back and teaching them face-to-face. We have all been proud of how smartly students have worn their uniform and how they have settled into their lessons.”
