Fairfax Celebrates the Best Performing Sixth Form in Sutton Coldfield!
New data released in February 2025 confirmed that progress at Fairfax ranks first in Birmingham and that it also has the best performing sixth form in Sutton Coldfield. Their progress score of +0.25, illustrates that Fairfax Sixth Form students achieve a grade higher in 1 out of 4 exams, compared to students nationally.
In addition, the progress of pupil premium students at Fairfax is +0.5, resulting in a grade higher in 1 out of 2 their exams, compared students nationally.

Sixth Form Enrolment
Enrolment timeline: GCSE Results Day – Thursday 20th August 2026
Fairfax students are enrolled into the Sixth Form on Thursday 20th August 2026 after collecting their GCSE results at 8:30am.
Erdington Academy students will be enrolled into the Sixth Form on Thursday 20th August 2026 from 10.00am.
External students – students will be enrolled into the sixth form on Thursday 20th August 2026 from 12.30pm
If any student wishes to change their option choices, they should email us on Sixth Form Options. Subjects can also be changed on the day of enrolment, subject to meeting the criteria.
Sixth Form Subject Blocks for September 2026
Students are to choose only three subjects* for their application.
Students can only select one subject within a block. Please note that option blocks are set for timetabling purposes and subjects cannot be moved.
MINIMUM CRITERIA
Except where specified, access to our sixth form will be available to students who have a minimum of 5 grades 9-4, at GCSE, including English and Mathematics at grade 4.
Students should not choose to study both Economics and Business at A Level due to the similarities in the examination content.
If students wish to take four subjects, they will require an average grade of 7 in the GCSEs to be considered for four subjects, and must meet the criteria of each subject.
