Food is at the heart of so many milestones, achievements and traditions – and now our incredible catering team is being recognised for the role they play in our school community at Fairfax Academy.
We’re proud to share that they’ve been shortlisted for The School Food People Awards for Excellence!
From World Cup themed menus to recreating TikTok trends, the team brings fun, creativity and genuine care to every meal. With 1,000 meals prepared each day, they work closely with students to shape menus, support wellbeing and make the Refectory a place where everyone feels they belong.
They cater for individual dietary needs, link dishes to curriculum events like European Languages Week and Black History Month, and help our newest Year 7s build healthy habits from day one.
A recent Refectory redesign has even transformed eating habits with a 32% increase in students choosing balanced, nutritious meals over grab‑and‑go options
As Catering Manager Mrs Burrows says:
“For us, it’s about much more than food. The Refectory is the heart of the school, a place where relationships grow and everyone comes together.”
