Creativity and Design

The Creativity and Desgin Faculty aims to enable all young people to become resourceful, successful learners who enjoy learning and making progress, and who are confident individuals able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives in our advanced technological society.

We provide creative and design experiences which will build self-esteem and develop problem solving, independence and team work skills as well as opportunities to celebrate achievement.

EXAM TIMETABLE BY WEEKS

WEEK 8 – 22nd February 2016. Hand in Artist sheets for marking and feedback. Start design ideas AO1/2 (You need 2). Your designs must link to your starting point, Artists and drawings. Design ideas will be presented on the same sheets as material experiments. Continue designs for homework.

WEEK 1 - 4th January 2016. Receive exam paper. Homework – decide which starting point you will choose. YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOUR MIND. Collect relevant objects to draw for next lesson. Start observational drawings in a range of media.

WEEK 9 – 29th February 2016. Complete design ideas and start material experiments for your designs. You should work in a range of materials relevant to your ideas and that link strongly to your starting point, artists and drawings. Continue for homework.

WEEK 2 – 11th January 2016. Observational drawing AO3. SC – consider background and presentation. Use a range of media – Pencil, biro, pencil crayon. You must fill the equivalent of an A2 sheet with at least 6 quality drawings.

WEEK 10 – 7th March 2016.Continue with material experiments for your designs. You should work in a range of materials relevant to your ideas and that link strongly to your starting point, artists and drawings. Continue for homework.

WEEK 3 – 18th January 2016. In lessons continue with observational drawings. For homework do more drawing and research TWO relevant artists.

WEEK 11 – 14th March 2016. Material experiments for your designs. You should work in a range of materials. Continue for homework.

WEEK 4 – 25th January 2016. In lessons continue with observational drawings. For homework do more drawing and print out pictures and text research for your TWO relevant artists.

WEEK 12 – 22st March 2016. Material experiments for your designs. You should work in a range of materials. Continue for homework.

WEEK 5 – 2st February 2016. Hand in observational drawing sheet for marking and feedback. Start to make 1st Artist sheet with images, text info and experiments AO1. Continue Artist sheets for homework.

WEEK 13 – 28th March 2016. EASTER HOLIDAYS – this time should be spent completing any unfinished work and making further improvements using feedback.

WEEK 6 – 8th February 2016. Start to make 2nd Artist sheet with images, text info and experiments. Make improvements to drawings based on feedback. Continue Artist sheets for homework.

WEEK 14 – 4th April 2016. EASTER HOLIDAYS – this time should be spent completing any unfinished work and making further improvements using feedback.

WEEK 7 – 15th February 2016. HALF TERM. Over ½ term complete drawing improvements and complete artist sheets ready to hand in on 22nd February.

WEEK 15 – 12th April 2016. You will not have a  lesson in this week!! Your exam days are on: Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th of April.
